Biweekly budget template: make every second-Friday paycheck work
If you are paid every two weeks, you get 26 paychecks a year, not 24. A biweekly budget turns that quirk into an advantage.

How biweekly pay differs from monthly
Most months you get two paychecks. Twice a year you get three. If you budget as if every month has two, those extra paychecks are free money for savings or debt, instead of disappearing into everyday spending.
Setting up a biweekly budget
- Enter your first payday. Every next payday is 14 days later.
- List your bills with due dates. Each bill is paid from the most recent paycheck before its due date.
- Check that no single paycheck is overloaded. Rent and a car payment in the same week is the classic problem.
- Give every remaining pound or dollar a job: groceries, fuel, savings, debt. That is zero-based budgeting.
Plan the extra-paycheck months now
Look ahead and mark the two months with a third paycheck. Decide today what that paycheck is for, such as an emergency fund, a debt or a sinking fund for car repairs. Deciding in advance is what makes it happen.
Annual and quarterly bills
Car insurance, subscriptions and holidays don’t arrive every two weeks. Divide each one by 26 and set that amount aside every paycheck, so the bill is already covered when it comes.
Use a template that already does this
The Paycheck Budget & Debt Payoff Planner supports weekly, biweekly, every 4 weeks, twice a month and monthly pay. It places each bill on the paycheck that pays it, flags the extra-paycheck months, and includes a bill calendar, savings goals and a snowball vs. avalanche debt calculator.
