How to track GLP-1 medication and weight loss: what to log and why
Tracking GLP-1 treatment means keeping one simple record of what you took and when, where you injected, how your weight and measurements change, and how you feel. It helps you remember doses, spot patterns and give your prescriber clear information. It is record-keeping, not medical advice.

Important: this page is about record-keeping only. It does not give medical or dosing advice. Always follow the plan your prescriber or pharmacist gave you, and the leaflet that comes with your medicine.
What to track
Doses
Date and time, the medicine and the dose written on your prescription, and whether it was taken on time, late or missed. Weekly injections such as Mounjaro (tirzepatide) or Wegovy (semaglutide) are easy to lose track of, especially when travelling.
Injection sites
Which area (stomach, thigh or upper arm, as described in your leaflet) and which side. A log makes changing spots easy. See the injection site rotation log.
Weight and measurements
Weigh at the same time and day each week, ideally under the same conditions. Add waist and hip measurements every few weeks, because they often change when the scale does not.
Side effects and how you feel
Nausea, constipation, reflux, tiredness or anything else, with a simple 0–5 score. Patterns like “worse the day after injecting” are useful to discuss with your prescriber. See the GLP-1 side effects diary.
Why track it in a spreadsheet
- Private: the file lives in your own Excel or Google Drive.
- No account or subscription.
- Easy to print a one-page summary for an appointment.
Medicine-specific trackers
The tracking is the same whichever GLP-1 you use. If you are on Mounjaro, the Mounjaro weight loss tracker guide walks through a weekly routine. Dutch and German readers can use our Dutch and German pages.

FAQ
Does the tracker tell me what dose to take?
No. It records the plan your prescriber gave you and what you actually took. Dosing decisions are for your prescriber.
Does it work for Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic?
Yes. You type in your own medicine and doses, so it works for any weekly GLP-1 injection and for daily GLP-1 tablets.
Is my data shared with anyone?
No. It is a spreadsheet in your own Excel or Google Drive. Nothing is sent to us.
